Installation, then the guide
Decide whether you need the M3U at all
Check the player first. If it has an Xtream Codes option, as TiViMate and IPTV Smarters do, use that and leave this page: the guide and catch-up come with it. The M3U link earns its keep in players that only take playlists: VLC on a computer, Kodi through its IPTV Simple Client, and Smart IPTV on Samsung and LG televisions. TiViMate and Smarters will accept the M3U too, under M3U playlist, but in those two it is the weaker route.
Read the link before you paste it
The link has the form http://server:port/get.php?username=…&password=…, with your own username and password written into it. In other words, the link is your login on a single line. Anyone who has it can watch on your account, so keep it out of group chats, forum posts and screenshots, and paste it only into players you trust.
Ask for a shorter list if the player is simple
A full playlist holds thousands of entries, and simple players read every one before they show anything. If your household watches channels from one or two countries, ask support on WhatsApp for an M3U filtered to those countries. It is the fastest way to turn 25,000+ channels into a list you can scroll, and the guide has fewer rows to fill as well.
Load it where your player expects it
Each player has its own door. Kodi wants the IPTV Simple Client installed first, then the link in its M3U URL field. Smart IPTV never sees the link on the television: you send it to the TV's MAC at siptv.app/mylist. VLC opens it from Media, then Open Network Stream, and is best treated as a test that the link works rather than a place to spend an evening, since it has no program grid for a list like this.
Give the player the guide address
Where the player has a field for the program guide, often labelled EPG or XMLTV, enter the guide address: the same server and port as your M3U link, ending in xmltv.php, with your username and password attached. Support sends the exact address on WhatsApp if you ask. Leave the field empty and the channels play while the guide stays blank.
Let the guide load, then compare it
The first guide download is large and takes a few minutes. When it lands, pick a channel whose evening you already know and compare what the guide says with what is actually on. If the programs belong to some other channel, the guide and the playlist did not come from the same place; the problems below cover the fix.
Set the clock the guide reads against
Listings are shown against the device clock. If everything is an hour out, correct the time zone on the device first, then use the player's guide offset if it has one and the device clock is already right.
Know what the M3U will not do
A playlist line usually plays live and nothing more. Catch-up needs archive information that the Xtream login supplies more reliably, and the on-demand library is easier to browse in a player signed in with Xtream. If you find you want either, the same account is waiting in the Xtream details of your activation message.
Check it this evening
Before relying on the link, check three things. The channels you watch are in the list. The guide shows now and next for them, in local time. And the list opens quickly enough that nobody is waiting on it at 8 pm; if they are, ask support for a filtered version.
Problems we see on this one
Opening the link just saves a file
Nothing is broken. The M3U link returns a playlist file, and a browser usually just saves it. Paste the link into a player instead of opening it in a browser. A player that insists on a local file will accept the downloaded copy, but that copy will not update when the list changes, so prefer the link wherever it is accepted.
Channels play, guide stays blank
The player has the playlist but not the guide. Enter the xmltv.php address in its EPG or XMLTV field, or ask support to send it to you. Then run a guide update or restart the player, and give the first download a few minutes.
A channel shows another channel's programs
The guide and the playlist are not matched. That happens when the guide came from a source other than the server in your M3U link. Replace it with the xmltv.php address on the same server, and the listings return to the right channels.
The link stopped working after a change to the account
The link has your username and password inside it. If support has issued new details, the old link still carries the old ones and fails. Take the new link from the latest message and replace it in every player that uses the M3U, including the TV at siptv.app/mylist.
No catch-up anywhere
Expected on most playlist setups. Catch-up works most reliably with the Xtream Codes login, so sign the player in with the Xtream details if it offers that option. If it does not, catch-up is one of the things you give up by using a playlist-only player.

Does the M3U link include the TV guide?
Not in a form every player reads. The guide sits on the same server at an address ending in xmltv.php, with your username and password attached, and many players ask for it separately. Support sends the exact address on request.
Why do free M3U lists found online stop working?
Free lists are copies of other people's streams, posted publicly. When thousands of strangers pull from one source, its owner shuts it off or the server gives way, often inside a week. There is no one to ask for a fix, and the sites passing these lists around have a long record of spreading malware. Your own link is tied to one account and has support behind it.
Can I give my M3U link to someone else?
Only if you want them watching on your account, because the link contains your username and password. Whoever holds it uses one of your simultaneous streams, so on a two-stream plan a third viewer means someone gets cut off. Posting it anywhere public is the quickest way to lose control of it.
Can I get an M3U with only my countries?
Yes. Ask support on WhatsApp for a playlist that holds only the countries you watch. It loads faster in simple players and the guide has fewer rows to fill, while the rest of the line-up stays in your subscription for any player signed in with Xtream.
